Hi everyone! The month of September is almost over. Can you believe that?
It feels like March was just yesterday. I for one am eager to say goodbye to 2020 and say hello to 2021 -- in the hopes of better days. This year has been a total dumpster fire.
Here's just a few updates on what's going on in my life and my writing. I haven't forgotten about this blog or my readers!
-For book three of The Soulless War Trilogy, THE DARK CAGE, I haven't been able to get my copy of the book yet. Amazon is limiting delivery to Canada due to COVID. I'll let you know when the release date is for that book soon once I speak to my publishing house. I hope it's still for the fall of 2020! It will conclude that book series.
-I've got ten chapters left to write for my YA paranormal mystery, CHATTER! I wrote a blog post about it, announcing the book at the end of August. When I'm finished, I'll be announcing my next book. Here's the clue for my October novel:
-I'm super excited for my birthday! It's right around the corner -- October 7th. Autumn is my favorite season and October is my favorite month. (It used to be because of Halloween, but that's cancelled this year.) I'll be turning 22, and I'll finally have an excuse to play "22" by Taylor Swift. :D
-Cases of COVID are on the rise here in Ottawa, Canada again. Our government is placing new restrictions in the attempt to curb this virus. I haven't gone out since March 2020 and I think it's irresponsible for young people my age to be throwing parties and gathering in large groups. You aren't just putting yourself at risk for the virus, but also your parents, grandparents, and friends, too -- who all might have medical conditions that gives them a higher risk of death. My grandparents are old and my mother has type 2 diabetes in a thankless customer service job. I worry about them in this virus, so I'm playing it safe.
-I showed my middle grade fantasy novel, GHOUL SCHOOL, to my agent last month! I'm just waiting on her to finish the edits. I really love this novel -- which is the first in a six book series -- and I can't wait for it to be out on submission! Eeep!
-Speaking of submission, I haven't heard anything back about my book, JESSICA PRINCE AND THE CRIMSON CAPER yet, which went on submission back in March 2020. Fingers crossed! (Editors have been behind this year for obvious reasons. I'm looking at you, 2020.)
-Another blog post of The Write Way is just around the corner! I'm committed to sticking to two blog posts a month.
