Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you have a literary agent?

A: Yes, we signed in January 2020! Her name is Jessica Reino of Metamorphosis Literary Agency, and she's representing my YA mystery novel, JESSICA PRINCE AND THE CRIMSON CAPER which recently sold, and other secret projects. Stayed tuned for more info on that soon!

Q: How can I get a literary agent as an aspiring author?

A: Through lots of writing, reading, and persistence! Don't quit. Being in the querying trenches is hard, but you'll get there. Check out my page on that (here) where I give advice!

Q: How many genres do you write? What is your favorite?

A: I write all genres for MG, YA, picture books, and adult fiction. I can't choose -- I love all genres as long as it's a good story!

Q: Where do you live? Can I send you mail?

A: Ottawa, Canada! It's where Parliament and the Rideau Canal are located. I don't have a P.O. box (yet), so no mail unfortunately! I prefer messages on social media for now. If you do contact me, thank you! I love to hear from people.

Q: How many words do you write a day? And how do you do it?

I'm a full-time writer, and I write about 2,500 to 3,500 words a day. It takes a lot of dedication and perseverance, but it's possible! I am a habitual person who lives by a routine and always writes a book with a clear plot in mind. I also never quit when it gets tough or I don't feel like writing.

Q: How did you become a full-time writer?

A: I live with my parents. I'm grateful for their support, both emotional and financial. Writing has become my life, giving me a purpose. But I really admire people who still find the time to write despite having full-time jobs, families, and other responsibilities!

Q: What do you want to be remembered for?

Being kind and writing good stories.

Q: If everyone was listening, what would you say to the world?

A: Love a lot, laugh too much, and remember that you hold the power to make the world a better place. No one can make you feel inferior without your permission.

Q: You talk about mental health a lot. What do you struggle with?

A: I've been diagnosed with depression, anxiety/panic attacks/agoraphobia, and OCD. I also have chronic migraines with and without aura (which makes you temporarily blind.) I'm autistic on the spectrum, diagnosed in my 20's.

Q: Is it true you've written 35+ novels?

A: Yes! People might not believe me, but it's true. I am a full-time writer who's obsessed with writing. I have way too many ideas and love to write them down! For me, it's become as natural as breathing. I get antsy if I'm away from my writing for too long!

Q: Can you please show my novel to your agent and help my career as an aspiring author?

A: I'm sorry, but I can't - for legal reasons. You're free to query her though and I wish you all the best! I know finding an agent is tough, but you can do it. Don't give up!

Q: Can I book you for an interview or class reading?

A: Yes! I'm only available over Zoom during COVID. For ALL media inquiries, please contact my literary agent, Jessica Reino at jreino@metamorphosisliteraryagency.com. Thank you!

Q: Why didn't you respond to my message on Twitter/Instagram/your website?

A: I'm very sorry! Since my Twitter went viral in March 2023, I've been overwhelmed with lovely messages. Just know I appreciate them all and never want to ignore anyone on purpose. I try to engage but it's gotten a lot tougher. Wishing you all the very best!
