Meet My 27th Novel/NaNoWriMo Novel!

Hi all! Halloween is almost upon us. Although we're not trick or treating this year, I'm still excited! I plan to take the weekend off and watch some movies since I just got Disney+. Halloweentown is high on my list since my agent said my children's fantasy novel, GHOUL SCHOOL, reminded her of it!

On November 2nd, I will be joining TONS of other writers embarking on their NaNoWriMo journey. My next novel is called...

THE RED HANDKERCHIEF! It's the first in a new mystery series called THE LONDON EYE with my main character, Eliza DeWitt. I left a clue about it in my last blog post. It takes place in 1894 in London, England, and MAY have been inspired by Enola Holmes.

Here's the synopsis so far:

London, England, 1894. After a thunderstorm one night, a woman is found murdered on the street, stabbed a dozen times. The killer places a red handkerchief over her body and flees the scene. Inspector Joseph DeWitt believes her murder is connected to the string of brutal killings committed by Jack the Ripper several years prior, and fears this murder will go unsolved, too. But his sixteen-year-old daughter, Eliza -- daughter of the late playwright Rosemary DeWitt -- believes it is the work of a copycat due to the red handkerchief clue and a change in M.O. When her father dismisses her beliefs, Eliza decides to start her own private investigation firm called The London Eye and get to the bottom of it herself -- despite her father and many others believing a woman cannot solve a crime. When another woman is murdered after a thunderstorm, the entire town of London is consumed by fear and panic. With only her wit and hunches to go on, Eliza must find this lady-killer before they come after her and everyone she loves.

Super excited to start! I've had this idea in my head for a long time, and I really love writing mystery. It was the genre that got me my agent!

Will you be partaking in NaNoWriMo? I have a few days to prep for it. Wish me luck!

Thanks for reading and see you next month!
