Meet My 23rd Novel!

Yesterday, I finished writing the first draft of the TIME TRAVEL AGENCY, my children's fantasy/sci-fi novel. Yay!

It's such a fun adventure, and I can't wait to show it to everyone.

In the meantime, I'm taking a few days off to relax and plot out my next novel...

ROOM WITH A VIEW. It's the first novel in another mystery series I'm calling the GRAND ROYALE HOTEL MYSTERIES. It's set at a hotel which is super fun.

I’m returning to mystery, the genre that got me my literary agent. I love mystery and I have such a blast writing it!

The setting is 1980 Las Vegas at the fictional Grand Royale Hotel and Lucky Horseshoe Casino. Eighteen-year-old Kate Clyde goes to visit her uncle Vince who’s a jazz singer and headliner at the most famous hotel in Vegas.

When she gets there, she discovers a wealthy businessman’s wife has jumped to her death from the top floor...only to find out the suicide note was forged and she was pushed instead. Kate must hunt for her killer. Can’t wait to introduce a new sleuth!

Fun fact: Star Trek Deep Space Nine actually inspired the series. There's a character named Vic Fontaine that was introduced in season six. He's a jazz singer at a hotel (Rat Pack style, like Frank Sinatra) and it got me thinking about how cool a mystery series would be set at a hotel. I was initially going to set it in the 60s, but I like the 80s much better.

What else am I doing? I'm also editing the third and final book in the Soulless War Trilogy. Once I'm finished, my editor will go over it once more before it goes back to Fire and Ice, my publishing house. It's still set for a fall 2020 release so stay tuned for that!

Today I also did a LOT of cleaning, so I'm pretty exhausted. I'd call it spring cleaning, but it's officially summer now, lol.

As always, thanks for reading. Stay safe and healthy out there!
