Hi everyone!
As many of you know, the novel that got me my incredible literary agent was my YA mystery novel, JESSICA PRINCE AND THE CRIMSON CAPER. It's (hopefully) the first in a series of mysteries.
Who is Jessica Prince? She's a sixteen-year-old sleuth who LOVES mystery novels. (Think Nancy Drew if she were rich and famous.) She lives with her Uncle Henry after her parents died in a car accident, and he's a billionaire who owns a multi-billion dollar tech company called Prince Enterprises. (Kind of like a Bruce Wayne type, but without the Batman suit.)
Because of that, she's an heiress to the Prince estate and gets to travel all around the world. She is blonde and loves the color pink, and kind of looks like this (and the caption is fitting):
But despite the money and fame, she's not stuck-up or arrogant. She hates injustice and cruelty, and will do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of a mystery (which sometimes means putting herself in danger.) She takes her best friend, Ben Clark -- the son of a Sheriff who is middle-class -- with her on her adventures, and sometimes her best friends, Madison Carter and Tiffany Hampton.
Because she's young and blonde, everyone thinks she's stupid -- but then she surprises them with her keen observational skills and attention to detail and solves the case. (Kind of like Columbo.)
(Basically, it's like a mix of Legally Blonde, Nancy Drew, Columbo, and Murder, She Wrote!)
